Mudroom Reveal!

It's a reveal many months in the making! May I present to you, our mudroom! I posted about our mudroom makeover a while back and am proud to finally say it is done. And super proud of how it came out. Sometimes I go in and sit there with my wine after the kids go to bed. Not kidding. Ha! But, in all seriousness, this space has been transformed. And we love it. It took a long time, longer than we would have thought. Maybe we wouldn't have even started it, honestly! But I'm glad our blind stupidity paved the way.

The storm door is finally painted to match the shutters and front door! My dad gets the credit here! He did an amazing job scraping and painting this old girl back to her original glory.

When you enter you first see this little vase that I have styled out with some tulips from our garden. Heart eyes!

I painted the inside of the front door black to match the inside of the back door and I just love the contrast with the white shiplap. This color is Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore in semi-gloss.

We searched for a while for a pair of folding theatre seats and it was worth the wait! I found this set on Craigslist and they're perfect. We wanted something that folded just to give a little more room when needed. They've added a lot of function!

You can also see here we decided to paint the original tongue and groove subfloor with porch paint. I went with an off the shelf color at the local hardware store. It is called Steel Wool Gray in a satin finish. It matched perfectly to the color the threshold was previously painted, which is what I was hoping! The person who painted it last probably went to the same local hardware store and bought the same paint off the shelf! I prepped the floor by priming it, and it took two coats of porch paint to get good coverage.

I love how the vaulted ceiling came out. I think it looks like it has always been there. My husband framed out a "beam" to accommodate the electrical box for our light fixture and then boxed it in and trimmed it out. It came out amazing.

On the opposite side, we have a row of hooks and bench to use for coats, cold weather accessories, and boot storage. Having this extra area to hang things has been a game changer! It's great for the kids wet snow pants and mittens after making a snowman.

The hooks and bench are both antiquing finds. The galvanized boot tray is from Target. The galvanized bin is Better Homes and Gardens Brand, and was a gift from someone knows me too well!

We exposed the backside of the entryway radiators, which give off heat. Punched sheet metal looks clean covers them nicely, leaving the radiators open to allow heat flow. I went with brass to match the rest of the original hardware in our home. These sheets happened to be clearance by the time we actually bought them. I picked them back and February, and when we went to buy them last month they were $5 each instead of $20! Cha-ching!

I am so so happy with what we did in this space. Such an extreme wow factor, that adds so much function for our family of four!

So, that's it! Mudroom Reveal! What do you think? I'm in love!
xoxo
